What is an extra?

When you take out selected O2 Refresh phone, tablet and sim only contracts, you'll get to handpick an extra, on us. Whether you’re into movies, music, reading, or you want to keep in touch with loved ones overseas, you can find an extra that’s perfect for you. Find out more about our extras.

Who can have an extra?

O2 Pay Monthly customers can have an extra. You’ll get one extra included on selected tariffs, if you’re a new or upgrading customer and you shop with us directly. But if you want to add any extras and pay for them through your monthly bill, you can do this in My O2 whenever you like. You'll just need to have joined or upgraded since 2010. What tariffs include an extra?

You’ll get one extra included on selected tariffs, if you’re a new or upgrading customer. But if you've joined or upgraded since 2010, you can add extras in My O2, and pay for them through your monthly bill. These will be fully chargeable subscriptions.

I already pay for one of these subscriptions. Can I still choose this extra?

No, you can only get an extra if you don’t already have an existing subscription with that partner.

Can I have more than one extra?

On selected tariffs you'll get one extra included. But if you've joined or upgraded since 2010, you can add extras in My O2, and pay for them through your monthly bill. These will be fully chargeable subscriptions.

Are extras free of charge?

You'll get one extra included on selected tariffs. Your included extra will be free of charge or discounted for an introductory period. At the end of that period, you'll need to pay a monthly subscription fee for your extra, which we'll add to your monthly bill. You can opt out of the subscription at any time in My O2.

What types of extras are available?

We've got a range of extras available. If you take out a new contract, you’ll get an extra included for a certain period of time, with selected tariffs. You can add an extra at any time in My O2, but these will be fully chargeable subscriptions.

How many extras can I have on my account?

You can add as many extras as you want to your account, but you’ll need to pay for any that aren’t included with your tariff.

Can I share my included extra with a friend or family member?

Yes, but bear in mind that all charges after the introductory period will be charged directly to your O2 bill. So you’ll still be responsible for all charges associated with the extra, even if you’ve given it to a friend or family member.

How long does my included extra last for?

Most extras last for three or six months, depending on the tariff you’ve chosen. Take a look at the table to learn more.

If you choose the International Bolt On as your included extra, it’ll remain on your account for a maximum of 36 months, or until you upgrade – whichever comes first.

I don’t know what extra I want. Can I decide later?

Yes. Once your order’s been dispatched, you’ll have 28 days to choose your extra in My O2. We can also send you a text and email reminder - if you'd like a reminder make sure you've opted in to our marketing communications.

If I leave O2 will I still be able to use my extra?

No. If you decide to leave O2 or cancel your recent qualifying order then your extra will be cancelled straight away. Take a look at our terms for more details.

I don't want an extra. Can I opt out?

If that's the case, we suggest selecting the 'choose later' option when you place your order. This means you'll still have 28 days to choose an extra if you change your mind.

Will the price of the extra increase once I start paying for it?

From time to time we might need to adjust the price of your extra based on any increases from the partner. If this is the case, we'll let you know 30 days before the price changes. Take a look at our terms for more details.

Am I still eligible for any other offers on top of my extra?

If you choose a selected tariff on promotion or with a discount you'll still be eligible for an included extra. Check the terms of individual promotions for more details.

I already have the International Bolt On added to my account. Can I still choose this as an included extra?

Yes. If you choose to the International Bolt On as your extra, this will replace your original Bolt On.

What countries are included in the International Bolt On extra?

Go to the International Bolt On page for more details.

How will I know when the International Bolt On extra is ready for me to use?

We'll let you know once the Bolt On has been added to your account.

If I choose the International Bolt On as my included extra, how long does it stay on my account for?

If you choose the International Bolt On as your included extra, it’ll remain on your account for a maximum of 36 months, or until you upgrade – whichever comes first.

Choosing and redeeming your extra

You can choose your included extra by logging in to My O2.

Go to My O2 to redeem your extra. You’ll be able to redeem it through the ‘Your extras’ section.

How long do I have to choose my included extra?

Once your order’s been dispatched, you’ll have 28 days to choose the extra included in your tariff.

You can choose your included extra in My O2. Or call us on 202 from your O2 mobile and we can apply your chosen extra for you.

Once you’ve chosen your extra, you’ll have 28 days to redeem it. You won’t be able to redeem your extra after this time, but you can always add one in My O2, and pay for it through your monthly bill. Take a look at our terms for more details.

How long do I have to redeem my extra?

Once you've chosen your included extra, you have 28 days to redeem it.

Call us on 202 from your O2 mobile.

Can I change my mind on my chosen extra?

You can change your extra as long as you’ve not redeemed it yet. Call 202 from your O2 mobile to get started.

Using your extra

Can I still keep my extra when I upgrade?

Yes, all the extras you have will stick around when you upgrade.

If I move my tariff up or down will my existing extra change?

No. If you change your tariff, this won’t affect your included extra.

I've been charged for my extra, but I didn’t want to keep it after the free period. What should I do?

You can cancel your extra at any point in My O2. Or call 202 from your O2 mobile and we'll help you.

How will my extra be displayed on my bill?

You’ll find your extras in the 'monthly extras' section of your bill.

You can cancel your extra at any point in My O2. Or call 202 from your O2 mobile and we'll help you.

If I cancel my extra, how long can I still use it for?

You’ll lose access to the extra as soon as you cancel it.

When can I cancel my extra?

You can cancel your extra at any point in My O2. For extras you’ve bought, if you cancel during your billing cycle then you'll receive a credit adjustment for any overpayment. This will be reflected on the following month’s bill.

What happens to my included extra once the free period is over?

After your introductory period, your extra will auto-renew to a chargeable version of the subscription. The monthly charge will be applied directly to your O2 bill. You’ll find these charges in the 'monthly extras' section of your bill. If you don’t want your extra to auto-renew after the free period, you can opt out in My O2. Or if you need more help, call us on 202 from your O2 mobile or pop into an O2 store.

I want to add another extra to my account. How do I do this?

You can add extras to your monthly bill at any time in My O2. For the first month you’ll see a prorated charge on your bill for the extra you’ve bought.

Where in My O2 will I be able to view my extra?

All of your extras will be included in the 'Your extras' section of My O2.
